The main objective of this course is to make your employees more aware of their role in keeping your facility safe from fire.  This extremely effective presentation covers fire prevention, the classes of fire, fire behavior, sprinkler systems, alarm systems, safe evacuation, using fire extinguishers, and the need for effective communication when the fire department is responding.  Your employees are given all the information they need to make wise decisions in the event of a fire, and emphasis is placed on personal safety when dealing with fires.  We stress that fire safety at work is everyone's responsibility and successful outcomes during emergency situations depend on the appropriate behavior of all employees.

The first portion of this course is a basic summary of the curriculum from our Fire Safety at Work course.  We will spend more time reviewing the operation of the types of fire extinguishers that you have at your facility, while stressing the safety aspects associated with using fire extinguishers.

The second portion consists of your employees using the fire extinguishers to extinguish fire scenarios on our live burn trailer.  The trailer consists of six different fires that we can utilize to reinforce what the students have been taught about the different classes of fire.  While gaining valuable hands-on experience with extinguishers, the students are taught the proper technique to extinguish each type of fire.  The instructor also demonstrates the consequence of improper technique or using the wrong type of extinguisher on a fire.  NOTE:  Since we will be using fire extinguishers, we will need adequate space to set up the trailer away from vehicles, etc.

This course is a great way to show your employees that you care about their safety at home as well as at work.  The main objective of this course is to make your employees and their families safe from fire when they are at home.  In this presentation we will zero in on the two most important areas of home safety:  prevention and preparation.  Everyone has heard that fire prevention is important, but most people are totally unaware of some simple mistakes they are making that could cost them their life or the life of a loved one.  Each student will receive a home safety checklist, which we will review in class.  This checklist covers smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, making and practicing escape plans, and many other home fire safety tips.  We will review some startling fire statistics and watch a powerful video, both of which will open their eyes and help them realize how much risk they face on a daily basis, and motivate them to change their behavior.
